چکیده

With immense potential to enhance oil recovery, CO2 has been extensively used in the exploitation of unconventional tight reservoirs. Significant variations are observed occur oil’s composition as well its physical properties after interacting with CO2. To explore impacts on extraction efficiency, two different types crude (light and heavy oil) huff-n-puff experiments. Moreover, numerical simulation is implemented quantitatively inspect influencing factors including production time, reservoir pressure temperature variation oil. The findings experiments demonstrate that, whether for light sample or sample, hydrocarbon distribution becomes lighter compared original state. In addition, it also discovered that more significant sample. suggest have produced properties. increasing time formation pressure, while heavier temperature. At very beginning production, worsened. Compared state, density viscosity 25.7% 200% higher, respectively. It suggested reducers added into improve this period. continuing continuously promoted. end 3.5% 15.1% lower oil, This paper great significance implementation

CO2 EOR and Storage in Oil Reservoirs

CO2 EOR and Storage in Oil Reservoirs — CO2 injection into tertiary oil reservoirs has been widely accepted as an effective technique for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), and has been used by the oil industry for over 40 years. Concerns over greenhouse gas emissions are leading to the investigation and realisation of its potential as a carbon storage method in recent years. With the right reservoir...

Simulation Study of CO2-EOR in Tight Oil Reservoirs with Complex Fracture Geometries

The recent development of tight oil reservoirs has led to an increase in oil production in the past several years due to the progress in horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing. However, the expected oil recovery factor from these reservoirs is still very low. CO2-based enhanced oil recovery is a suitable solution to improve the recovery. One challenge of the estimation of the recovery is ...

A new investigation on modeling of permeability reduction during CO2 flooding processes in sandstone oil reservoirs

Permeability reduction in oil reservoirs during primary oil recovery and using the enhanced oil recovery methods are complicated problem which most of the oil field in worlds has encountered. In this work, a modified model based on four phase black oil model (oil, water, gas, and asphaltene) was developed to account permeability reduction during CO2 flooding in cylindrical coordinates around a ...

Integrating Embedded Discrete Fracture and Dual-Porosity, Dual-Permeability Methods to Simulate Fluid Flow in Shale Oil Reservoirs

Abstract: The oil recovery factor from shale oil remains low, about 5 to 7% of the oil in place. How to increase oil recovery from shale oil reservoirs is attracting more and more attention. CO2 huff-and-puff was historically considered one of the best approaches to improve the oil rate. Most previous simulation studies have been based on dual porosity, but simulation results from dual-porosity...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
